About

Inspired by Nature. Rooted in California.

Hi, I’m Tori Mellott, an artist, surface pattern designer, and illustrator inspired by California’s native landscapes, ranch life, gardens, and the simple beauty found in everyday moments.

As a fourth-generation California rancher, I’ve spent my life surrounded by wildflowers, oak trees, horses, chickens, and wide-open spaces. Those experiences continue to shape my artwork, creating designs that feel both timeless and connected to nature.

Working primarily in watercolor and digital illustration, I create artwork for surface pattern collections, children’s publishing, stationery, home dรฉcor, fabric, and lifestyle products. I love transforming everyday moments into patterns and illustrations that invite curiosity, joy, and a sense of place.

Whether I’m sketching native plants, designing coordinating pattern collections, or developing stories for children’s books, my goal is always the same: to create artwork that brings warmth, wonder, and a lasting connection to the natural world.
